Meta's dedication to fostering AI growth was also reflected in its participation in the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024. The programme underscored Vietnam's commitment to prioritizing AI in its economic strategy, a vision that aligns with Meta's goal of nurturing knowledge-based economies. By collaborating with local talents and institutions, Meta aims to help Vietnam emerge as a leader in AI development on both a regional and global scale.

Clegg said, Vietnam continues to be an important country for Meta. Millions of small businesses and consumers rely on our platforms to connect with new customers, engage with friends and family, and contribute to their local communities.

Meta is committed to supporting Vietnam as it strengthens its position as a digital economy leader through the government's Industry 4.0 initiative. By unlocking growth opportunities and delivering innovative products, Meta aims to contribute to the country's economic prosperity and empower businesses to thrive in the digital age.

Clegg also announced Meta's new investments for Vietnam. Beginning 2025, Meta will expand manufacturing of its latest Mixed Reality device Quest 3S to Vietnam. This decision underscores Vietnam's growing importance in Meta's manufacturing ecosystem. The expansion is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs and contribute millions of dollars to the Vietnamese economy.

Meta's investment in Vietnam also extends to AI innovation. As part of its global AI strategy, Meta will soon begin testing Meta AI in Vietnamese, which will allow the company's AI tools to be accessible in the local language.

Business AI for Messenger has been testing in Vietnam since June 2024 and will fully launch by the end of this year. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to help Vietnamese businesses and developers tap into AI technology and leverage it for growth and innovation.

Besides, Meta's ongoing collaboration with the Vietnam National University exemplifies this commitment, with a credit-earning AI literacy curriculum scheduled to launch in March 2025. This programme will upskill educators and students to navigate AI products and experiences safely and responsibly./.
