Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Funding Timeline Released

Fredericksburg, Texas - The City of Fredericksburg recently unveiled the timeline for 2025 Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grant requests.

As in the past, the City Council reserves a portion of the City's HOT collections to support events, programs or facilities that are reasonably likely to directly enhance the Fredericksburg tourism and lodging industry.

After changes to the timeline and policy in the last funding cycle, this will be the first time that funding is based on actual HOT collections rather than projections.

The process will open with an orientation meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Fire Department Training Room located at 126 W. Main Street. After this meeting, applications will begin to be accepted.

Entities that received funding in 2024 are required to submit an Annual Financial Report by Thursday, Nov. 14. The application deadline is Friday, Nov. 15 and applications will not be accepted after that deadline. Funding will only be given for events happening in 2025.

Applications will be reviewed by the City Council, City staff and the Convention and Visitor Bureau to ensure completeness and the suitability based on state law requirements.

The City Council will then hold a Special Meeting on January 16 to interview applicants, before holding its Regular Meeting on January 21 to award funding.
