Driver Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Jefferson Parish Crash

Gretna - Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 21, 2024, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a single-vehicle injury crash on Terry Parkway near US 90B in Jefferson Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 29-year-old Quentin Solete Jr. of New Orleans.

The initial investigation revealed that Solete was traveling eastbound on the upper level of US 90B in a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted to stop Solete for a speeding violation, but quickly lost sight of his vehicle. A short time later, the Camaro was discovered crashed on Terry Parkway near US 90B where it had flipped several times and struck a light pole.

Solete was ejected from the vehicle, and suffered serious injuries as a result. He was transported from the scene to University Medical Center (UMC) in New Orleans. Earlier today, Troopers were notified by UMC staff that Solete succumbed to his injuries on August 10, 2024. Restraint use and impairment is unknown at this time, and this crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists the importance of making good decisions while in motor vehicles. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, always ensure every occupant is properly restrained, and follow all traffic laws. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
