New Alignment of Southbound 221

Partial Opening of Two Roundabouts and Removal of Signalized Intersection at SR 29/221/Soscol Ferry Road

Motorists Should Watch for New Traffic Alignment

Starts Friday July 26 through Friday August 9, 2024

Napa County - Caltrans has scheduled an extended single lane closure on Southbound State Route 221 (SR-221) between Napa Valley Corporate Way and the offramp to Northbound State Route 29 (SR-29) beginning Friday July 26, 2024 which will remain in place until Friday August 9, 2024.

Crews will work on reconstructing the roadway for the new alignment of Southbound SR-221 roadway as part of ongoing construction of the Soscol Junction Roundabout project. To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, a single lane reduction will be in place on Southbound SR-221.

Crews will begin work at 9:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2024, reducing Southbound 221 to a single traffic lane, shifting Southbound 221 traffic to two new roundabouts and deactivating the signalized intersection at SR-29 and Southbound 221.

Motorists should be aware this work will shift traffic to the two partially completed roundabouts for routing traffic between Southbound SR-221, Soscol Ferry Road and SR-29. The detour of Northbound Soscol Ferry Road to Northbound SR-221 will remain active.

All work is weather dependent. Motorists are advised to allow extra time to become acclimated to this detour and expect delays.
