Mawlid al-Nabi: Minister Yaseen

"Today, Muslims around the world are celebrating the traditional birth date of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (PBUH), observed during the third month of the Islamic calendar. There are more than 200,000 Muslims living in Alberta, who honour this significant occasion through a variety of customs and traditions.

"For all those commemorating Mawlid al-Nabi, also known as Eid Milad un-Nabi, may this day serve as a moment of deep reflection on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As you gather for prayers, sermons and Qur'anic recitations, may your connection to your faith and to each other be strengthened.
