BPD in the Community: Boston Police Takes Part in Annual Boys and Girls Club Unity Games

The Boston Police Department proudly celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the YouthConnect Unity Games with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston!

This annual event brings together Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston and YouthConnect Social Workers from across the City for an exciting basketball tournament and workshops.

YouthConnect Master's-level clinical social workers are embedded in Boston Police district stations offering violence prevention, intervention, advocacy and mental health services to young people in the criminal justice system and their families.

This important partnership allows our officers additional tools to help youth but making referrals to YouthConnect.

BPD officers take on the role of coaches in the Unity Games for the various teams, guiding and mentoring the young players throughout the competition. At the end of the tournament, our officers took on the winning team in a fun filled contest.

The real victory for all involved was the positive connections made with our youth!
