Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
Assurant, Inc. (the "Company") announced today that it expects to record approximately $138 million pre-tax, or $109 million after-tax, of reportable catastrophes for third quarter 2024, primarily within its Global Housing segment. Reportable catastrophes were primarily within lender-placed, mainly driven by $92 million pre-tax from Hurricane Helene. The remainder came from Hurricane Beryl, Hurricane Debby and Hurricane Francine.
The Company's reportable catastrophes include individual catastrophic events that generate losses in excess of $5 million, pre-tax, net of reinsurance and client profit sharing adjustments and including reinstatement and other premiums.
Hurricane Milton is expected to be a reportable catastrophe for fourth quarter 2024. The Company expects to provide additional details during its third quarter 2024 earnings call on November 6, 2024.
