Mayor’s Youth Council Sworn by Mayor Paulk

On August 12, 2024, at the City of Douglas City Commission meeting, the 2024-2025 Mayor's Youth Council members were sworn in by Mayor Tony Paulk. The Youth Council for this school term will be the largest with 18 students from Douglas-Coffee County students and has its first honorary council member, Jannik Uhl, an exchange student from Germany.

The Douglas Mayor's Youth Council offers young people the opportunity to participate in social and political processes, fostering leadership skills, personal growth, and an understanding of government. Throughout the year, the youth council will discuss issues and plans to improve our community.

The Youth Council elected Kimora "Destiny' Henderson as the Junior Mayor and Dominic Mimbang as the Jr. Mayor Pro Tem. Junior Commissioners are Naveah Spencer, Jaleigha Williams, Nayeli Moran, Dickson Petitfrere, Jeremiah Bazell, Zipporiah Wilcox, Zynia Hunt, Christiani "Dani" Davis, Grayson Taylor, Jada Marshall, Emma Russ, Jace Wilson, Xzaria Jordan, Darius Curtis Gabby Burns, and Imori Paulk.

The first meeting of the 2024-2025 Youth Council will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. at City Hall located at 302 S. Madison Avenue. Everyone is invited to attend.
