Bulldogs keep momentum going with inaugural Wingate Athletics Champions Campaign

In the midst of another strong fall sports season, Wingate University Athletics is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Wingate Athletics Champions Campaign fundraising effort, set to run Nov. 11-15, 2024. This weeklong initiative aims to support the Bulldogs' 26 athletic teams, over 800 student-athletes, as well as the University's cheerleaders and marching band.

Following a successful year in which Wingate Athletics had one team national championship, celebrated a departmental GPA of 3.17, and earned 16 conference championships, the University is ready to continue the momentum. The program's impressive track record includes two individual national championships, 53 All-Americans, and a notable fourth-place finish in the nationwide Learfield Directors Cup standings last year. This fall, Wingate has already won two conference titles (in cross country) and is contending for league titles or national-tournament bids in several other sports.

The Wingate Athletics Champions Campaign invites alumni, parents and friends to contribute to the Bulldog Club, with the option to direct gifts to the Bulldog Athletics Fund - benefiting the greatest needs in athletics - or to the team of their choice. Gifts made during the campaign will be allocated 100% to the designated team.

"Last year was a great year by all standards, but now it is time to keep moving forward and striving to get better," says Joe Reich, Director of Athletics. "The Wingate Athletics Champions Campaign has the potential to have a great impact on each of our programs. I highly encourage all of Bulldog Nation to help out and contribute to our successes."
