The Village of Fox Lake is starting the first phase of their Lead Service Line Replacement Program with Five Star Energy Services, which was the lowest responsible bidder for the project. The Village has received roughly $2.28 Million of principal forgiveness from the IEPA for this project.
The typical ownership of the water service line is illustrated on the Exhibit below and is defined as follows:
The Village is prioritizing the services installed with the original South System, which are within the oldest sections of the distribution system.
Construction of the lead service line replacements and associated site work will be limited to properties currently served with lead water service lines. Currently, the only anticipated environmental impacts are construction-related noise, dust, traffic, and soil displacement. These impacts are minor, temporary, and will be mitigated through best management practices during construction. Communication will be ongoing with impacted residents and adjacent businesses as the project progresses. Due to the tight access and narrow roads, there may be temporary road closures and detours that will be located as the work progresses.
