Comfort Stations to Close Until Further Notice as Tropical Storm Milton Forms with Florida's Gulf Coast in its Path

Ahead of inclement weather and approaching Tropical Storm Milton, Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa will close its Comfort Stations at 5 p.m. today until further notice.

The Comfort Stations, which offer essential services, including mobile laundry, showers, electronic charging stations, food, water, and permitting assistance for home and business repairs have been open at three locations across the city.

The comfort stations will return to the neighborhoods in need as soon as it is safe to remobilize the facilities.

"We know that many residents are still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene, and unfortunately forecasts for the system in the Gulf have become more serious," said Mayor Jane Castor. "We will continue to monitor the track of this storm so we can re-open these service stations to provide relief to those in need as they focus on recovery."

The Comfort Stations are located at:

Marjorie Park Marina - 97 Columbia Drive
DeSoto Park - 2617 Corrine Street
Gandy Civic Association - 4207 West Oklahoma Avenue
