Town of Smithtown - Kings Park Downtown Revitalization Master Plan

Notice of Acceptance of Final GEIS

Suffolk County - The Town of Smithtown Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Kings Park Downtown Revitalization Master Plan. The Final GEIS is available from the Smithtown Department of Environment and Waterways, 124 West Main Street, Smithtown, NY 11787; the Smithtown Libraries: Smithtown, Nesconset, Kings Park, and Commack Branches and on line at: www.smithtownny.gov.

The action involves the Town of Smithtown Town Board's own motion to adopt the Kings Park Downtown Revitalization Master Plan, with the goals of improving economic and market conditions in the downtown, improving traffic safety and reducing traffic congestion, enhancing the appearance of the downtown, preserving the character of the downtown and surrounding residential neighborhoods, allowing for residential development to meet the needs of the community, and promoting a pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly downtown environment. The project is located in the Kings Park area of the Town of Smithtown, New York.
