REDDING - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Knife River Construction are preparing to begin work on the Budden Canyon Overlay Project on State Route 36 in Tehama County. The $2.65 million project will provide a thin hot mix asphalt overlay with areas of concrete dig outs on SR 36 near Platina, from 3.3 miles west of Vestal Road to 2.3 miles east of Dry Creek Bridge. The project will also include shoulder backing, upgrading guardrail to meet current standards, and the removal and replacement of thermoplastic markings and striping.

Construction activities are currently planned to start on Monday, August 19th. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 10-minute delays, Mondays through Thursdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Fridays between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by early October.

Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice.
