NEWS RELEASE- BACK TO SCHOOL BACKPACK GIVEAWAY 7.20.24

EL PASO, TEXAS - For the past 15 years, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Community Service Section has maintained a valuable partnership with Operation Hope, a nonprofit organization that supports underprivileged students in the local community. This partnership has resulted in numerous successful events and initiatives aimed at providing much-needed resources and support to students in need. One such event, held on July 20th, 2024, was particularly memorable as several organizations and businesses rallied together to donate 250 backpacks filled with essential school supplies. The event took place at the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Headquarters. Starting at 9:00 am, the event was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from all those in attendance. Students and their families were able to select backpacks that best suited their needs, ensuring that each individual felt supported and empowered as they prepared for the upcoming school year. The joy and relief on the faces of these students and their families were truly heartwarming.

The collaborative effort of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Operation Hope, and the various community partners involved was truly inspiring. Their dedication and support exemplified the power of coming together to make a positive impact in the lives of others. By providing students with the tools they need to succeed academically, this event not only alleviated financial burdens for families but also instilled a sense of hope and encouragement for a brighter future.

Through events like these, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to serving and supporting the local community, making a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
