Lancaster General Health Holds October 2024 Community Blood Drives
September 26, 2024
LANCASTER, PA - Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health sponsors community blood drives every week throughout Lancaster County, as well as at the Blood Donor Center at the Suburban Pavilion. The Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Blood Donor Center encourages people to donate blood and platelets as often as possible. Blood that is collected stays in Lancaster County to benefit members of our community.
The United States is currently experiencing a shortage of blood supplies. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health encourages all eligible donors to make a donation at either our blood donor center or one of our community blood drives.
Blood donors must be in good health (free of flu, cold and nausea symptoms for at least three days), 16 years of age (with parental consent) to 79 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, be well hydrated, eat a substantial meal within four hours before donating, and bring a form of ID.
Appointments are encouraged while walk-ins are also accepted. To make an appointment at one of our blood drives go to lghblooddonors.org/donorportal/ or call 717-544-0170. All individuals presenting to donate will receive $10 Sheetz card or a movie ticket to Penn or Regal Cinemas.

Community members may schedule appointments to donate at the Blood Donor Center by calling717-544-0170 and choosing option 1, or by visiting LGHealth.org/GiveBlood
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Blood Donor Center hours:
- Mondays: 10 am to 7:30 pm
- Tuesdays: 8 am to 4 pm
- Wednesdays: 8 am to 6 pm
- Thursdays: 8 am to 4 pm
