On September 19, 2024, State Police members arrested Michael D. Buskey, age 34, of Plattsburgh, NY, for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and Operating Motor Vehicle Impaired By Drugs-1st.

On September 19, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Troopers responded to Lake Street in the voltage of Rouses Point for a property damage accident. An investigation determined a 2009 Nissan operated by Buskey was traveling north on Lake Street when he lost control of the vehicle, striking the guard rail. While the Troopers were interviewing Buskey, he was showing signs of impairment. Troopers administered SFSTS, which he failed. He was placed under arrest, and during a safety search, Buskey was found in possession of narcotics.

Buskey was transported to SP Champlain for processing. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Champlain Court for a later date in October.
