Chandler has its sights set on a future where residents are empowered with the skills and knowledge to thrive in high-demand fields, particularly in healthcare, science and technology. Our focus on education, economic development and workforce readiness is building a powerful foundation for Chandler residents to access meaningful careers that create prosperity for families and the community.

As a registered nurse and member of the Arizona Board of Nursing, I'm proud of our progress in the healthcare sector. Grand Canyon University's accelerated bachelor of science in nursing program in West Chandler is training residents for high demand careers in skilled healthcare professionals. It prepares students to enter a workforce that is essential for supporting the health of our community. Chandler-Gilbert Community College also offers healthcare-related career pathways that empower students to achieve professional credentials, ensuring they can quickly transition from education to career.

Chandler is at the forefront of meeting science and technology industry needs. Collaboration with education and business leaders has created programs and pathways for high-tech careers, while addressing the needs of employers. Chandler residents have the unique opportunity to achieve their career ambitions right here in our city, whether it's caring for patients, working in a fab or within a tech startup.

The presence of Arizona State University and the University of Arizona in Downtown Chandler offers high-value degree programs tailored to today's tech-driven economy. The University of Arizona's master's degree in data analytics provides students with sought-after skills for roles in data science, artificial intelligence and analytics. Arizona State University's master's program in public management at the Chandler Innovation Center emphasizes technological leadership, preparing graduates for roles that blend technology with public service.

Beyond degree programs, Career and Technical Education initiatives are ensuring students at every level of learning can explore pathways for careers in healthcare, science and technology. Chandler Unified School District and Chandler-Gilbert Community College offer programs for high school students to earn certifications in fields like biomedical sciences and information technology. It enables students to earn credentials early in life and positions them to make seamless transitions into advanced degree programs offered at local universities.

Efforts among the Chandler Unified School District, Chandler-Gilbert Community College and University of Arizona has created a cybersecurity career pathway. This unique program enables students to progress from high school to a master's degree in cybersecurity, all within Chandler. It provides access into one of the fastest-growing fields globally and creates a local talent pool ready to take on cybersecurity challenges that impact our economy and safety.

Connecting residents with these high-demand opportunities is the Chandler Career Center, an online workforce development platform launched in partnership with Pipeline AZ. This no-cost resource connects residents with employers in healthcare, science, technology and other industries. The platform is a hub where job seekers can find roles tailored to their skills and interests, and employers can reach people who are actively developing the high-demand skills our economy requires.

Our dedication to higher education and workforce development is forging pathways that prepare Chandler residents for careers that matter. Our commitment to fostering a diverse, well-trained workforce in healthcare, science, and technology is setting the stage for a thriving future. A community-wide commitment to education continues to propel Chandler forward as a city leading in innovation and opportunity.
