October 14, 2024 - Reston, Va. - The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) CEO Clay Mowry made the following statement:

"On behalf of the 30,000 members of AIAA, we congratulate NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the entire Europa Clipper team on today's successful SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch to send the spacecraft toward Jupiter's moon Europa. We are excited to follow the journey of NASA's first mission to an ocean world looking for evidence of life beyond Earth. This mission represents the bold spirit of exploration that our community embodies, seeking answers and pushing boundaries across the cosmos.

We were honored to hear directly from the mission's Deputy Project Scientist, Bonnie Buratti, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who delivered the 2024 William H. Pickering Lecture during 2024 ASCEND, available to watch now on the AIAA YouTube channel.

Countless AIAA individual members have dedicated much of their careers to the research, science, engineering, testing, and development of the Europa Clipper mission. Over the years, they have chronicled their work, authoring numerous articles for AIAA journals and meeting papers for AIAA forums. We have made nine selected articles free to download during the month of October here. These original scholarly works have been published in AIAA's Aerospace Research Central (ARC) as part of our commitment to ensuring students and professionals stay current on the most important advances in aerospace science and technology.

We recognize the aerospace industry professionals involved in making this mission a success. We salute AIAA Corporate Members Jet Propulsion Laboratory and SpaceX for helping shape the future of aerospace."
