Kahoot!'s engaging learning experience is now available in Thai

Since launch, billions of learners have built knowledge with Kahoot!. Now Thai educators, students, professionals, families, and friends can now join them in their own language.

December 12, 2024 - Kahoot!, the global learning and engagement platform, announces that its web platform and mobile apps for iOS and Android are now localized to the Thai language. With this launch, Kahoot! empowers Thai educators to connect with their students through interactive lessons in their native language. Students can boost comprehension and retention through self-study, while professionals can transform training, meetings, and onboarding at work into more engaging and effective experiences tailored to their needs.

"Learning is most impactful when it is accessible and adapted to the learner's unique context, with language playing a vital role. By localizing the Kahoot! experience for Thai speakers, we are now unlocking endless opportunities for Thai educators and learners in any setting to experience engaging learning in a way that feels natural," said Eilert Hanoa, CEO at Kahoot!.

Create kahoots with AI or dive into premium partner content

Kahoot! enables its users to create, deliver and experience interactive learning content. Whether they create their own content manually, generate with powerful AI, or choose from the vast library of premium content from partners such as Sanrio (Hello Kitty and more popular characters), Disney, Peanuts, and more, Kahoot! helps make learning accessible, fun, and engaging for everyone.

Tassanawan Sunklang, an assistant professor in Computer Science at Silpakorn University in Bangkok, is a frequent user of Kahoot! in her courses:

"I use Kahoot! to check in before class and to test students' pre-reading knowledge before almost every class. I also use it to test students' knowledge of the previous class. Kahoot! gets students excited before class, provides both knowledge and fun, and is a great way to assess students' pre-reading knowledge," she says. "By removing the language barrier, learning has now become more accessible for my students."

For parents and young learners, Kahoot! Kids-the standalone app for iOSand Androiddesigned for children ages 2 to 7 years old-is also now localized in Thai. The app enables parents to support their children in building their core and early childhood skills through play-based learning.

A global movement of lifelong learners

Kahoot! has become a trusted tool for making learning awesome in diverse educational, professional, and social settings around the world, with more than 11 billion (non-unique) participants since the launch.

In Thailand specifically, more than 130,000 teachers use Kahoot! to spark classroom engagement and improve academic performance, with more than 20 million (non-unique) participants on the platform in the last 12 months. Over the last year, the professional usage has increased substantially, with a more than 50% growth in hosted sessions at work. These numbers highlight a growing trend of Thai employers turning to Kahoot! to make training sessions and meetings more interactive, engaging, and effective, fostering collaboration and participation in the workplace.

Kahoot! has recently established new offices in Singapore to better support its growing community in Southeast Asia, offering more localized assistance to users across segments.

"We see a great opportunity to advance learning in Thailand, making it more accessible and inclusive for all. This localization should however be seen in the context of our broader ramp up in Southeast Asia, supporting the strong momentum with increased presence, localizations, and partnerships," says Ahteram Uddin, VP Commercial for APAC, based in Singapore.
