Missouri’s Fast Track Program Covers Costs for Adult Learners at SEMO

The grant program was developed by the state of Missouri to increase the number of Missourians with a college degree and help with statewide workforce development efforts. It can be used to pay for a certificate, degree, or industry-recognized credential in an area designated as high-need in Missouri.

"The Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant makes it easier for adults to start college or pick up where they left off by removing or lessening the financial barrier," said Associate Director of the Southeast Transfer Center Brooke Lockhart. "This is important because we know that affordability is still the driving factor when individuals are making decisions about whether to attend college. This helps take that stress out of their decision to continue their education."

Southeast offers more than 42 academic programs eligible for the Fast Track Grant with several programs being offered online. The grant is designed to ensure that tuition and fees are fully covered for adult learners when combined with other governmental aid and scholarships.

The Fast Track Program is open to:

• Missouri residents who are 25 or older or have not been enrolled in school in the last two years
• Have not earned a bachelor's degree
• Enroll at least half-time
• Are earning no more than $40,000 a year filing as a single tax filer ($80,000 filing jointly)

TransferringToSEMO

Students with a cumulative 2.0 GPA and 24 or more academic, transferable college hours are eligible for transfer. Students interested in transferring to SEMO are still eligible for scholarships and other financial aid. Prospective students are encouraged to visit campus.
