Long Beach, CA - Long Beach Airport (LGB) needs your votes to be ranked among the Top 10 Best Small Airports in the United States for 2024 by the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest.

"LGB is often the first impression visitors have our of great city, and it provides travelers with a relaxing experience in beautiful facilities that reflect the spirit of Long Beach," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "Being considered for this Top 10 list is a testament to the exceptional reputation of LGB. I'm thrilled that this recognition will bring more attention to Long Beach from travelers nationwide, especially if we can secure enough votes."

After a month-long voting period, LGB needs to score enough votes from its fanbase to capture a spot on the list. Community members can vote daily for Long Beach Airport to be recognized for the 10Best Readers' Choice Awards under the category of Best Small Airport. No login is required. Voting is open through noon on Monday, Sept. 23.

The Airport was nominated by industry experts and editors at USA TODAY before the public voting period opened to determine the final list. The USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards highlight top-notch attractions and businesses across the country, providing readers with trusted recommendations.

USA TODAY's nomination comes as LGB just this year celebrated the reopening of its Historic Terminal building, as well as the recent completion of a new, modern Ticketing Lobby, Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) and consolidated Bag Claim-all part of an ongoing $125 million Phase II - Terminal Area Improvements Program that have made travel even smoother from curb to gate.

The Airport, which is marking its centennial year of service, is focused on offering a stress-free and convenient travel experience, with air carriers-including Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Hawaiian Airlines-currently offering service to 24 nonstop destinations around the nation, which is more nonstop service than at any time in LGB's 100-year history.

"LGB was honored to win in this same category in 2020, and we know we can do it again," said Airport Director Cynthia Guidry. "Being considered for USA TODAY's 10Best list is a testament to what makes us unique among airports, from our indoor-outdoor design-complete with palm trees and a fire pit-to locally-owned shops and restaurants."

LGB continues to be recognized nationally for its convenience, unique charm and providing a first-class experience for travelers. This nomination is only the latest recognition for the award-winning airport, which also has been honored for the past two consecutive years among the 10 Best Airports in the United States based on votes by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
