Governor Newsom issues legislative update 9.12.24

SACRAMENTO - Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • AB 1853 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) - San Joaquin Regional Transit District: meetings: surplus money investments.
  • AB 1879 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) - Property taxation: filing.
  • AB 1940 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) - Alcoholic beverages: beer returns.
  • AB 1953 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) - Vehicles: weight limits.
  • AB 1994 by the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs - Veterans: Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • AB 2067 by Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) - Financial institutions: service of process.
  • AB 2231 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) - Pawnbrokers: education.
  • AB 2873 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) - Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative: grants.
  • AB 3168 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) - Department of Motor Vehicles: confidential records.
  • AB 3278 by the Committee on Transportation -Transportation: omnibus bill.
  • AB 3279 by the Committee on Judiciary - State Bar of California.
  • AB 3280 by the Committee on Judiciary - Superior court: lactation rooms: Judicial Council report.
  • AB 3283 by the Committee on Judiciary - Enforcement of judgments: claims of exemption.
  • AB 3285 by the Committee on Governmental Organization - Alcoholic beverage control.

The Governor also announced that he has vetoed the following bill:

  • SB 1432 by Senator Anna Caballero (D-Merced) - Health facilities: seismic standards. A veto message can be found here.
