What to know to work on film sets? A course for audiovisual professionals is coming soon

The first edition of a program that will involve directors, producers and more is underway

Becoming professionals in the management of film sets through a path built together with directors, screenwriters and other key figures: among them the producer Nicola Serra, involved in television series such as 'Inspector Montalbano', broadcast on Rai with Luca Zingaretti, and ' The Count of Monte Cristo', with Oscar winner Jeremy Irons.

This is the opportunity offered by the advanced training course in Cinema and Audiovisual Location Management, organized by the University of the Republic of San Marino together with Cinecittà, Emilia - Romagna Film Commission and the Audiovisual Producers Association (APA).

The program includes a series of in-depth studies scheduled from next October to May 2025, in modules consisting of two half days each, close to the weekends: aspects relating to the administration of a set, relations with local administrations will be analysed. of the territories in which the filming is carried out, consistency with sustainability protocols and more.

"We will train the professionals responsible for understanding the needs of directors, producers and screenwriters to then choose where to shoot certain scenes, request the necessary permits by dealing with the bureaucratic part, manage the staff during takes, check the accounts from an accounting point of view and so on , with particular attention to outdoor locations, through which the authors try to characterize their films. For example, it could be a particular area of ​​a historic village, a specific stretch of road, or the valorisation of natural or architectural environments". Speaking is Maria Elena D'Amelio, director of the advanced training course, in its first edition: "It is a targeted and professionalizing path in which those enrolled will listen to the words and experiences of figures active in this world such as Chiara Sbarigia, president of Cinecittà and APA, Fabio Abagnato, director of the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, and Giannandrea Pecorelli, producer of films such as 'The Night Before the Exams', also involved in the Rai television series 'Un medico in famiglia'".

Also focus on topics such as international productions and laws affecting the audiovisual sector, to complete a course reserved for 25 participants.
