NLU Alum Appointed Diamond Lake School District Superintendent

Dear D76 Families and Staff,

After months of a rigorous search and interview process, the Board of Education is pleased to announce Dr. Erin Knoll as the next Superintendent of D76 effective July 1, 2025.

Dr. Erin Knoll is a seasoned educational leader with 25 years of experience dedicated to fostering positive and thriving learning environments. Beginning her career as an elementary educator, she spent nine years nurturing a love for learning in young students. Over the past 16 years, Dr. Knoll has taken on various administrative roles within Schaumburg Community Consolidated School District 54, culminating in her current position as Associate Superintendent for the past four years.

Dr. Knoll is passionate about creating systems and structures that not only promote academic excellence, that also prioritize the well-being of both students and staff. She is deeply committed to collaborative leadership and continuous improvement, ensuring that both the academic and emotional needs of the school community are met.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Knoll holds a Bachelor's degree in education from National-Louis University, as well as Master's degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, Reading and Educational Leadership. She also earned her Doctorate with the Superintendent Endorsement, highlighting her commitment to growth and leadership in education.

Dr. Knoll recognizes the trust that families place in schools and takes this responsibility to heart. She remains visible, approachable and supportive of all stakeholders. Through her work, she models kindness while remaining deeply committed to upholding the SparkleOn Core Values.
