Green Bay Conservation Corps Hosts National Make a Difference Day

Saturday, October 26th, 2024, the Green Bay Conservation Corps (GBCC) is hosting a volunteer event to celebrate National Make a Difference Day. This is the largest national day of community service held on the fourth Saturday of October, dating back to 1992. Volunteers will assist the crew in removing invasive buckthorn from the woodlot.

This family-friendly event will be held at Red Smith Park in Green Bay from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; people of all ages and abilities are welcome! Meet at the park shelter before going into the wooded area. Equipment and tools will be provided. Please dress appropriately for the event by wearing gloves, closed-toed shoes, and pants as this event will include walking in a wooded, off-trail landscape.

More information can be found on Facebook @GB_ConservationCorps.

About: Green Bay Conservation Corps started in September 2022 as the first municipally based AmeriCorps program in Wisconsin. The mission of the GBCC is to improve the habitats and trails through the City of Green Bay parks and greenways.
