City of Lancaster hosts education sessions on home rule charter ahead of November vote

September 24, 2024| Home Rule Study Commission

As voters prepare for an important election on Nov. 5, the Sorace administration and the Home Rule Study Commission invite Lancaster city voters to attend a series of education sessions about the proposed home rule charter that will appear on the ballot. These sessions will provide information on the proposed charter and its implications for taxation, city services, and overall governance.

During the two-part sessions, the Home Rule Study Commission will present the proposed home rule charter, followed by insights from Mayor Danene Sorace.

"Lancaster City voters have a critical decision to make on Nov. 5. Adopting the proposed home rule charter or not will impact Lancaster for many years. I encourage all residents to join an education session to hear about home rule and how it can secure a better future for our great city," said Mayor Sorace.
