Vizient reports strides in 2023 DEI progress

IRVING, Texas, Oct. 18, 2024 - Vizient, Inc. today released its 2023 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Report, highlighting progress in creating a consistent, exceptional work experience among its employee base. The report includes insights across key performance indicators and features programs and solutions Vizient implements to ensure a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

"I'm proud of how we have continued, year over year, to attract and retain diverse talent - which means not only are we finding outstanding people, but we are supporting them while they are here," said Byron Jobe, president and CEO.
Key highlights from the 2023 report include:

  • Expanded executive ranks for women, growing from 39.2% in 2020 to 45.7%; and for people of color from 11% in 2020 to 15.6%.
  • Directed recruitment resources to find highly qualified and diverse candidates with at least one woman or person of color advancing to final rounds for executive positions - and from there, hiring the best. In 2023, 77% of candidate slates were diverse.
  • Achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index - the nation's foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
  • Launched two new diversity networking associations (DNAs), Hispanic/Latinx@Vizient and Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi and Allies (APIDA@Vizient) in Q1 of 2023.

The report also features Vizient's work in gender equality. Last year, Vizient sponsored 25 women to participate in Advancing Women Leaders Digital Academy, a program that emphasizes skills, practices and actionable steps for women to scale the specific hurdles they face and to achieve equality and advancement in the workplace.

Vizient's Chief Culture, Diversity and Impact Officer Monica Davy remarked on the value of Vizient culture and what it means to its clients: "Our commitment to DEI allows us to innovate and better serve our clients, understand the patients who enter provider's doors and create solutions to address health inequities."
