Kelly Ayotte Refuses to Say Whether Mike Pence Did "The Right Thing" Certifying the 2020 Presidential Election Results

In last night's GOP primary debate, Kelly Ayotte repeatedly refused to answer a yes-or-no question about whether she believes former Vice President Mike Pence did "the right thing" when he certified the 2020 presidential election results after a violent and deadly mob stormed the U.S. Capitol.

WATCH HERE:

Ayotte's unwillingness to answer a straightforward question about whether Vice President Pence was right to follow the Constitution after a deadly assault on our democracy in which law enforcement officers were assaulted is a dramatic reversal from 2016, when she claimed she could not vote for Donald Trump "as a matter of principle," and supposedly writing in Pence's name instead.

After many have suggested her un-endorsement of Trump cost her her U.S. Senate seat, and facing a primary from the right in this campaign, Ayotte is hugging Trump tighter than ever, calling him the "right choice," saying she would welcome Trump's endorsement of her in the governor's race, and invitinghim to campaign with her in New Hampshire.

"It's disgraceful that Kelly Ayotte, who in 2016 said she could not vote for Donald Trump, now won't even say whether it was appropriate to certify a free and fair election after a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, assaulting police officers in their wake, and threatening to kill the Vice President," said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O'Brien. "Ayotte's blatant reversal on Trump and her unwillingness to answer basic questions about the rule of law are just more proof that she will do or say anything to get elected - including go back on her own word and embrace dangerous conspiracies - and that Granite Staters cannot trust her to put them first."
