Fire These VA Bureaucrats

More than 9 million veterans rely on the VA for care across America. This includes our two candidates for vice president - Ohio Senator J.D. Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Yet, recent reports indicate at least 12 VA employees broke protocol and went snooping through their medical records over the summer. This is an egregious assault on Senator Vance and Governor Walz's privacy. It's also a serious blow to the VA's already shakey credibility.

That's why I sent a letter this week to VA Secretary McDonough demanding he immediately fire the bureaucrats responsible and refer them to the Justice Department for prosecution.

The VA should also coordinate with federal law enforcement to ensure Senator Vance and Governor Walz's medical records were not improperly accessed at the behest of foreign operatives wanting to interfere in our election. Given that Iran has tried to assassinate President Trump this is a threat that cannot be taken lightly.

As a veteran myself, I understand how important the VA's services are, but I question whether the VA leadership is taking this seriously. I hope Secretary McDonough will clean house!
