Desfile de La Gente & Fiesta Events Canceled Plaza Closed

Santa Fe, NM - September 8, 2024 - The Desfile de La Gente and all of today's events on the Santa Fe Plaza are canceled. The Plaza will also be closed following an Officer Involved Shooting incident that occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. this morning.
The suspect is in custody, and the officers are ok.
Washington Avenue is closed from Marcy Street to Palace Avenue. Palace Avenue is closed from Washington Street to Paseo de Peralta. Additional road closures near the Plaza may occur as the investigation continues.
SFPD is asking our community to avoid the Plaza area as New Mexico State Police responds and conducts their investigation into the OIS.
