Update: Southbound US-101 to Central Freeway Connector Ramp Re-Opens Following Emergency Barrier Repairs

Published: Nov 11, 2024

San Francisco - Caltrans has re-opened the southbound US-101 Central Freeway connector ramp at the I-80 U.S. 101 interchange and the southbound U.S. 101 on ramp at 10th and Bryant St. at 9:30 PM Sunday, Nov. 10.

The weekend closure was necessary to allow crews to make emergency repairs to replace damaged concrete barrier and tubular railing on connectors due to vehicle collisions over the years. This weekend's successful completion of barrier rail structures enhances the overall efficiency and safety of the connector ramp.

This weekend's repairs are the second in a series of barrier repairs requiring lane closures on the Central freeway this year. Caltrans will keep the public apprised of all future scheduled closures. Caltrans has put together a media bar with videos and photos of the emergency construction barrier work that is in progress. Please feel free to utilize uploaded content for your news purposes.
