2024 Air Show Canceled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELASE

News Release Provided by FIAS - October 13, 2024

It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the upcoming 43rd Florida International Air Show, due to the severe impacts of both Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene on our community. The safety and well-being of our attendees, volunteers, and community are our top priority, and given the extensive damage and challenges these storms have brought, it is clear that moving forward with the event is not possible at this time.

These hurricanes have caused significant disruption in our area, leaving many without shelter, and essential resources. Our community is currently focused on recovery and providing support to those in need. While the Air Show has always been a celebration of resilience and togetherness, we believe that our efforts are best directed toward rebuilding and ensuring that our neighbors and loved ones are safe and supported.

We know how much our community looks forward to this event each year, and we share in your disappointment. However, we hope that everyone understands the importance of prioritizing recovery during these challenging times.
We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has been part of the planning process, our sponsors, vendors, and the volunteers who have worked tirelessly on this event. Our community partners, PGD, Charlotte County Sheriff, Fire and EMS are all committed to the safety of our community and we would not want to burden them with extra workload during post hurricane rebuild. We will focus our efforts in bringing the Air Show back, once our community has fully recovered, strong and ready to welcome our guests, the US Navy Blue Angels and our loyal supporters to an exciting November 2025 Air Show!
In the meantime, if you are looking for ways to help those affected by the storms, please consider making an online donation to Community Organizations Active in a Disaster (COAD) at www.coadfl.org, where your donation will help to distribute relief supplies, provide immediate alternative housing and care for displaced residents and assist in mobilizing recovery efforts to rebuild and restore our community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We'll see you in 2025!
