DCCC Chair Statement After Donald Trump Accepted the GOP Nomination

After the twice impeached, criminally convicted Donald Trump accepted the nomination to be the Republican presidential candidate this evening, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement:

"Tonight, the American people were reminded that there are no more moderates left among House Republicans. Tonight, they all 'bent the knee' to their criminally convicted leader and his extreme agenda. House Republicans have endorsed Donald Trump's plans to raise taxes on the middle class, cut Social Security and Medicare, give tax breaks to big corporations, and ban abortion nationwide. It's clear to everyone that they will blindly follow Trump while ignoring the needs of everyday families.

"The American people do not want this extreme agenda. They want lower costs, reproductive freedom, and an economy that works for everyone - and they know that House Democrats are the only party focused on delivering these issues. That's why voters will reject Donald Trump and House Republicans' dangerous agenda, including Project 2025, in November, and will help Democrats reclaim the House majority."
