November 20, 2024 - The City of St. Petersburg has multiple boards and committees with vacancies that are seeking residents to serve.
The Advisory Commission on Aging serves as an advisory body to the City of St. Petersburg. The members of the Board support, leverage and advocate for programs and resources that protect and ensure quality of life for St. Petersburg's aging community. The Commission's vision is a community where seniors can receive the services and resources needed to live a safe, independent, and dignified life.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is tasked with reviewing possible new incentive strategies and evaluating the implementation of previously adopted incentive strategies to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of property to appreciate in value.

The Nuisance Abatement Board hears and decides cases involving properties in the city allegedly being used for illegal activity. This Board plays an important role in reducing crime and improving the safety and welfare of St. Pete citizens and visitors by encouraging property owners to take responsibility to prevent their properties from becoming the site of ongoing nuisance activities.

The mission of the Public Arts Commission is to expand public experience and exposure to culture through various art forms, enhance the appearance of public facilities, improve the aesthetic environment of the city on behalf of its citizens, and provide for the incorporation of art in the design and construction of public facilities within the city.

The purpose of the Social Services Allocation Committee is to promote the health, economic, and social well-being of residents of St. Pete. The Committee reviews applications for Social Action Funding Grants and makes recommendations to City Council for funding.
