Cumberland Island National Seashore Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Land Exchanges

St. Marys, GA - Cumberland Island National Seashore (the Park), a unit of the national park system is seeking public feedback on four proposed land exchanges during a 30-day civic engagement period. Within the legislative boundary of the Park there are portions of the island that are state owned, privately owned, or owned by other federal entities. By exchanging property with private landowners, the NPS seeks to relocate private interests to other areas where it is more appropriate and less impactful on visitors.

The 30-day period is open from Thursday, September 5th, 2024, to Sunday, October 6th, 2024. During the civic engagement period, the park will host a virtual public meeting on Thursday, September 19th at 6:00p.m - 7:30p.m. Everyone is invited to participate. To attend the virtual meeting, please use this link and join the meeting 5 to 10 minutes early to test your connection.
