On December 16, 2024, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Sousa with three counts of first-degree child molestation, two counts of first-degree sexual assault, and three counts of second-degree child molestation.

The alleged acts occurred in Middletown on various days and dates between February 14, 2023 and May 31, 2024. The Middletown Police Department conducted the investigation.
