On December 9, 2024, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Francis R. Sheehy, 35, of Troy, NY, for:
On December 4, 2024, Megan U. Audi, 28, of Clifton Park, NY, was also arrested for Conspiracy in the fourth degree.
On October 10, 2024, at about 5:11 p.m., Troopers received the report that a Clifton Park business receiving counterfeit money as payment for merchandise. The investigation discovered that on October 9, 2024, Sheehy allegedly made a purchase using a counterfeit $100 bill. Audi was employed by the business and working as the cashier during the alleged crime. Audi and Sheehy, who are known to each other, allegedly conspired during the purchase when she reportedly accepted the counterfeit currency without following proper protocol, which would have identified the money was fake. In addition, Audi allegedly accepted and provided change for two counterfeit $20 bills during the transaction, resulting in the total theft of over $140.
Audi surrendered herself to SP Clifton Park, where she was processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on December 18, 2024. She is no longer employed by the business.
Sheehy was arrested in Brunswick, NY. When he was taken into custody, he was found to possess an illegal bladed weapon which was seized. Sheehy was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing. He was then arraigned at the Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
