TWIGs Host 57th annual Sugarplum Festival of Trees benefiting Dayton Children’s

Dayton Children's Hospital and Terrific Women in Giving (TWIGs) encourage community members to attend the 57th Annual Sugarplum Festival of Trees on November 9, which benefits children's mental health initiatives.

TWIGs, an auxiliary of Dayton Children's, will host the Sugarplum Festival of Trees at the American Legion Post #598 in Kettering.

As the first Christmas event of the season in the Dayton area, each year TWIGs members handmake designer trees and holiday decor, which will be on display at the post for bidding. Across the weekend, bidding is also available online. The event is free, with the exception of the Friday evening event called Swigs with TWIGs.

  • On November 8, Swigs with TWIGs will consist of a fine dining event from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm with a sneak preview of the holiday trees and decor. Swigs with TWIGs is the only part of the weekend-long event that requires a purchased ticket.
  • November 9 will be a full day of holiday festivities from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, including a free opportunity for children to sit on Santa's lap as well as participate in children's activities. The decorated trees will remain on display for bidding. There will also be an open house with food trucks.
  • November 10, the tree auction will close at noon and winners will be announced. Auction winners may pick up items from 3:00 - 6:00 pm from the Kettering American Legion Post.

The funds from all the events associated with the Sugarplum Festival of Trees will go directly to the mental health initiatives of Dayton Children's, including The Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness, which will serve patients in need of mental health prevention, intervention and support. This year, Dayton Children's has set a goal of raising $100,000 during this event.

A staple in the community for Dayton Children's, the annual Sugarplum Festival of Trees caters to young and old families, providing a free kick-off to the holiday season all in the name of a great cause!
