Pathways to Partnerships Lands in Polk County

P2P "Pathway to Dreams" classrooms were teeming with excitement and inspiring ideas as students engaged in learning about our Pathways to Partnerships mission and developing initial thoughts about their dreams and steps needed to achieve them. We are excited to announce P2P "Pathway to Dreams" is officially underway with participating middle school students in the Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living (CIL) and Disability Connections Center for Independent Living (CIL) service areas. Our fantastic P2P CIL Instructors from these two CILs recently facilitated a "Pathway to Dreams" introduction lesson empowering students to use their individual voices to share about themselves, as well as inspiring them to reflect on their career dreams and goals for their futures!

We are excited to continue spotlighting the upcoming weeks of P2P "Pathway to Dreams" implementation in these areas. Through our strong partnerships (GVRA, CILs, and LEAs) and the great work of the P2P CIL Instructors, the growth students will experience as they learn critical soft skills and early job exploration is going to be remarkable. They, as well as their families, will also have the opportunity to connect to meaningful supports and resources. This opportunity will equip participating students with essential skills needed to help them pursue their dreams and obtain positive post-secondary outcomes and eventually competitive integrated employment.

A huge THANK YOU goes to our amazing school district partners Houston County Schools and Polk County Schools for allowing our P2P Team Member to work with your participating middle school students. Together, our commitment to being One Team, One Dream, and Better Together will support students building a strong foundation of soft skills, support a smooth transition process, enhance awareness of available resources, and help students explore their dreams for successful futures!
