Northeast Skiers and Riders Can Save Big on Lift Tickets with Epic Pass; Stowe, Mount Snow, Okemo and More Share Season Sneak Peek

STOWE, VT, Aug. 14, 2024 - The best time to plan for winter is now, and your checklist to prepare for the ski and ride season is here. With eight Vail Resorts ski areas spread across Vermont, New Hampshire and New York, skiers and riders who start planning now will lock in the best deals and experiences. There's a lot to celebrate and explore this year, so read on to learn more about what's in store at Hunter Mountain (NY); Stowe Mountain Resort, Mount Snow, Okemo Mountain Resort (VT); Attitash Mountain, Wildcat Mountain, Mount Sunapee, and Crotched Mountain (NH).
Here's our pre-winter checklist to start preparing now for the 2024/25 ski and ride season:
✔ Discover what's new at your favorite mountain destinations in the Northeast
Vail Resorts' eight ski resorts in the Northeast are gearing up for winter with capital investments, exciting new tech and a robust lineup of new and returning events.
New York
This season Hunter Mountain, nestled in the Catskills, is celebrating 65 years with two Epic Lift Upgrades and a major automated snowmaking installation. Since opening on January 9, 1960, with the original "B" Lift in operation, Hunter Mountain has a history of innovation in the industry, from being the first ski resort in New York to install snowmaking to being the first in the U.S. to install an automated snowmaking system. While the resort has grown and evolved over the decades with new lifts and new peaks, it still boasts the same energy and sense of adventure, providing skiers and riders a destination to learn, progress and challenge themselves.
New for the 2024/25 winter season, Hunter is adding 70+ automated snow guns and the Epic Lift Upgrade of the Broadway Lift and E Lift. Together, these new enhancements will allow the Hunter team to produce more snow faster and increase uphill capacity, giving guests more time on snow, elevating the experiences of both beginner and advanced skiers and riders.
Vermont
At Stowe Mountain Resort, the Ski Capital of the East, there is something for everyone, from Pass Holder appreciation events to Skal Summit Toasts to robust Ski and Ride School programming. Mount Snow, home to the east's most powerful snowmaking system, has big plans for its 70th season with a full calendar of new and returning signature events including two weekends of Oktoberfest (Oct. 5 & 12), the Carinthia Classic, Reggaefest and more. At Okemo Mountain Resort, the team is excited to welcome back guests for another season of fun. Whether for a weekend away or an annual family vacation, Okemo's vast terrain and endless après offerings will make it one to remember.
New Hampshire
In New Hampshire, fresh off the heels of two Epic Lift Upgrades from the last two seasons, Attitash is preparing for its 60th season. Down the road at Wildcat, you can ski or ride like a local on the longest novice trail in the Granite State, take in the scenic views of Mount Washington, and test your skills on 2,100 feet of vertical. Southern New Hampshire's proximity to large metro areas is the perfect place to welcome new guests into the sport, and skiers and riders of Crotched and Mount Sunapee will find new and expanded lessons and development programming this season. From the dedicated learning area of South Peak to the steeps of North Peak, Mount Sunapee has something for everyone. And at Crotched, the party continues this season with Midnight Madness and day to night skiing and riding.
✔ Ski the East with an Epic Pass and save on your entire experience
Skiers and riders have until September 2 to purchase an Epic Pass before prices increase. Epic Passes offer significant pre-season savings compared to lift ticket prices and, whether you plan to ski or ride just one day or all season long, there is a Pass option for everyone.
- Epic Day Pass(as low as $44-$73 per day) offers skiers and riders the ability to build their own Pass - choosing 1-7 days to use throughout the season. Epic Day Passes provide up to 65% savings compared to lift ticket prices. Epic Day Pass Holders can ski Vermont and New York resorts like Stowe, Okemo and Hunter for as low as $72 per day, and New Hampshire resorts including Wildcat and Mount Sunapee starting as low as $44 per day (excludes peak dates).
- Epic Local Pass ($746) provides unlimited access to eight resorts in the Northeast including Stowe, Okemo, Mount Snow, Hunter, Mount Sunapee, Crotched, Wildcat and Attitash. For those who want to ski and ride the West, the Epic Local Pass also includes access to Vail Mountain, Park City Mountain, Breckenridge, Whistler Blackcomb and more (with some restrictions).
- Northeast Value Pass ($613) offers incredible value with access to ski and ride resorts across the Northeast including Stowe, Hunter, Mount Snow and Okemo (with some restrictions).
- Epic Pass ($1,004) continues to offer the best deal in skiing and riding with access to more than 80 resorts worldwide, including unlimited, unrestricted access to resorts throughout the Northeast including Stowe, Okemo, Hunter, Mount Snow and Mount Sunapee.
- Specialty Passes are available including active and retired Military and their dependents ($177), Veterans and their dependents ($573), and Adaptive Passes ($492) that offer access to 42 resorts at a discount. The Northeast Value College Pass ($430) is perfect for college students who want to ski or ride resorts across the Northeast.

Epic Passes also provide savings on other parts of the in-resort experience. Passes come with Epic Mountain Rewards, which offer exclusive discounts including 20% off on-mountain food and beverage, lodging, group ski and ride lessons, equipment rentals and more - all winter long.
✔ Lock in access to premium gear, available slopeside, for only $50 with My Epic Gear
New across all three Vermont destinations - Stowe Mountain Resort, Okemo and Mount Snow - comes My Epic Gear, the ultimate gear membership giving skiers and riders all the benefits of gear ownership, but with more choice, lower cost and no hassle.
Travelers no longer have to buy and haul their equipment to and from ski resorts with the launch of My Epic Gear, a first-of-its-kind membership that combines the luxury of owning high-quality gear and the convenience of a premium valet. Members unlock access to more than 60 of the latest ski and snowboard models from 13 leading brands. The entire membership experience, from gear selection to free daily slopeside pick-up and drop-off, is available in the My Epic app.
Memberships are limited for the 2024/25 winter season, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. My Epic Gear is available for the whole family (ages 3 and up) across Stowe Mountain Resort, Okemo, Mount Snow, Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Heavenly, and Northstar. Memberships cost $50 for the 2024/25 season, with a $55 daily use fee for adults and $45 for kids (3-12).
✔ Book lodging now for up to 35% off room rates
Skiers and riders who buy an Epic Pass now will get early access to Vail Resorts' Winter Getaway Sale, offering discounted lodging rates for a limited time across hotels and vacation rentals at mountain resorts, including Hunter, Okemo and Mount Snow. With Epic Mountain Rewards, Pass Holders will be able to save up to 35% off room rates. Pass Holders can book preferred lodging beginning 8/22 by logging into their Epic Pass account and selecting the sale. Public access will be available online from 8/27-9/3.
✔ Skip the ticket line, download My Epic app with Mobile Pass
Download the new My Epic app to use Mobile Pass this winter. Guests can buy their Pass online, activate and store it in the My Epic app, and scan their phone hands free at the lifts using low-energy Bluetooth® technology. Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Tickets will be available at Vail Resorts' 37 North American resorts during the 2024/25 season.
My Epic app will also feature enhanced stats tracking, Find My Friends, interactive trail maps - and with Buddy and Ski With a Friend Tickets available in app, your guest can skip the ticket line and head straight to the lift with you.
