The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities presented three awards on Nov. 3, 2024, during the Partnership Lunch at its 38th Annual Conference. Daniel Lopez, Ph.D., President of Harold Washington College and member of HACU's Governing Board served as convener.
Southwest Airlines was the recipient of the Outstanding Private Sector Partner Award with Laura Nieto, managing director of corporate responsibility, culture and communications accepting on their behalf. The Export Import Bank of the United States was the recipient of the Outstanding Public Sector Partner Award with Laly Rivera Perez, special advisor for the Export Import accepting on their behalf. Dallas College received the Outstanding HACU-Member Institution Award, with Chancellor Justin Lonon accepting on their behalf.
Partner and sponsor remarks were given by representatives from the CIA, Nordstrom, Sam's Club, the United States Coast Guard, and Amazon Robotics. The U.S. Army Cadet Command gave remarks and presented a scholarship to student Anthony Robles-Gonzalez.
