San Joaquin/Stanislaus County - Caltrans is preparing to begin a maintenance project to repair bridge decks and improve nearby embankment slopes to improve motorist safety at two locations on State Route 99 (SR-99) in San Joaquin County and one location in Stanislaus County.

The project will make various pavement repairs including the application of polyester concrete overlays on bridge decks, and hot mix asphalt, rubberized and cold plane asphalt concrete to extend service life, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve reliability and safety for motorists. Slope paving and rock slope protection will also be installed under the bridge structures.

Work will occur at the following locations:

  • Northbound and southbound SR-99 at French Camp Road
  • Northbound and southbound SR-99 at Mormon Slough
  • Eastbound and westbound SR-120 at Stanislaus River Bridge near Victory Avenue (San Joaquin/Stanislaus County line)

The project is set to begin the week of September 1-7, 2024, and is scheduled for 65 working days with completion expected by December 2024.

Work will occur Mondays through Thursdays and motorists should expect alternating lane closures on SR-99 and one-way traffic control on SR-120. Caltrans will have overhead and roadside signage alerting motorists of the closures.

This $1.2 million maintenance project will be performed by Valentine Corporation (San Rafael, CA.) Future traffic advisories will include lane closure details.
