On Saturday, November 9, Fort Stanwix National Monument will be offering all veterans, active-duty military, and reservists (with ID) entry passes to all National Park Service locations. Passes can be obtained at the park visitor center between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and then again from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. with appropriate veteran's or active-duty/reservist's ID (as listed below). In addition to the lifetime entry pass, all applicants will receive a free national parks map (while supplies last) to assist with trip planning.
These passes cover entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges as well as standard amenity fees (day use fees) at national forests and grasslands and on lands managed by the National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation and US Army Corps of Engineers; a total of over 2,000 sites.
What counts as veteran's ID: Unexpired Department of Defense Identification Card (DD Form 2,DD Form 2765, or Next Generation USID replacement); Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC); Veteran ID Card; Veterans designation on a state-issued US driver's license or identification card.
What counts as active-duty ID: Current members of the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force and National Guard with valid DoD CAC card; Dependents of current U.S. military members with valid DD Form 1173 or Next Generation USID replacement; U.S. Military Cadets with a valid CAC card; U.S. Active Reservists (Do not need to be deployed) with a valid CAC card.
Fort Stanwix National Monument is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the park is free.
