Two Arrested After 250 Stolen Items and Four Guns Seized From Pinehurst Drive Home

Outstanding coordination between the MNPD Organized Retail Crime and Fraud Units, as well as SWAT and East Precinct Patrol, led to today's arrest of two serial thieves and the seizure of 250 stolen items from a home on Pinehurst Drive.

During the execution of a search warrant at the home this morning, detectives seized more than $60,000 worth of stolen construction equipment and tools (seen in attached images) from Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor Freight stores.

Hector Ibanes-Huerta, 44, and Stephanie Kay Powers, 41, were both arrested after admitting they knew the items were stolen before posting them for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Four guns, two of which were registered as stolen out of Nashville, were also recovered from inside the home.

Powers, who has a domestic assault conviction from 2013, cannot legally possess a firearm. Ibanes-Huerta, who is not a U.S. citizen, also cannot legally possess a firearm.

Ibanes-Huerta was charged with four counts of unlawful weapon possession, two counts of theft of a firearm, theft of property greater than $60,000, and simple drug possession. He is now jailed on $82,000 bond.

Powers was charged with three counts of weapon possession with a domestic violence conviction, two counts of theft of a firearm, and theft of property greater than $60,000. She is now jailed in lieu of $75,000 bond.
