Making an Impact: Chicago Roadmap Releases 4th Annual Impact Report

The Chicago Roadmap's fourth annual Impact Report was just released, highlighting how the comprehensive partnership between Chicago Public Schools and City Colleges has grown since it officially launched in 2019.

Now heading into its fifth year, the Chicago Roadmap is increasingly recognized as a national model for K-12-community college partnership, preparing Chicago students for postsecondary success through high-quality instruction, early access to advanced programs, career exposure, and targeted supports.

The new report highlights tangible improvements in key student outcomes, including:

  • Since the 2018-19 school year, the proportion of Black students eligible for college-level math at City Colleges increased by 22 percent, and the proportion of Black students eligible for college-level English increased by 19 percent.
  • Since the inceptionof the Chicago Roadmap, transitional math classes have grown to be available in up to 75 high schools and up to 50 high schools for transitional English.
  • City Colleges' postsecondary navigators now support students in 91 CPS high schools, helping guide students through the college application and decision process.
  • Enrollment in the Model Pathways program grew to nearly 1,000students last school year.These students are pursuing a sequenceof industry-specific college coursework,accelerating their future careers.
  • 727 CPS seniors from the Class of 2024 earned at least 15 credits for free during high school through City Colleges' Early College program. 94 graduated from high school with associate degrees.
