A section of Route 5 in the City of Erie, Erie County will be closed to through traffic from November 18 to November 22, 2024, due to railroad work.
CSX Transportation will be making repairs to the railroad crossing near the intersection of Route 5 and Downing Avenue.
A detour will be posted using Franklin Avenue, 12th Street, Bayfront Parkway (Route 4034), and 6th Street.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
