SALINAS, CA - Today, U.S. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) announced that El Pajaro Community Development Corporation will receive $75,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to support current and emerging rural businesses in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.
"Small businesses help drive our local, regional, and national economies, and I respect the El Pajaro Community Development Corporation's commitment to empowering entrepreneurs in the Central Coast. This federal funding will help provide management resources for rural, small business owners, equipping them with tools for success," said Rep. Zoe Lofgren.
This funding comes from the USDA's Rural Business Development Grants Program, which promotes economic development and job creation in rural communities. The funding is projected to assist at least 75 businesses within Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.
The USDA funding was provided by the FY24 consolidated appropriations package, which Rep. Lofgren voted in favor of.
