CALL FOR DESIGNER: 2nd Annual AAPI Heritage and Dragon Boat Festival

Deadline: Friday, November 22, 2024

This is a call for design portfolios only, please do not design for the event unless selected. The City of Dallas, Office of Arts & Culture invites Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) artists residing in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex to submit a portfolio for consideration to design the promotional material for the city's 2nd Annual AAPI Heritage and Dragon Boat Festival at White Rock Lake on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Selected artist will be compensated $800 to design a save the date, poster/flyer/banner (print media), social media graphics, and t-shirt design for the 2nd Annual AAPI Heritage and Dragon Boat Festival.

ELIGIBILITY
- AAPI community members are highly encouraged to apply.

- Artist must reside in the DFW Metroplex

- Artist must be able to work collaboratively with event organizers to create final promotional graphics.

- Artist must be able to register as a City of Dallas vendor and fill out a W9 form.

Tuesday, December 5, 2024 via email.

Call for Entries: El Corazón Exhibition

Entries Deadline: Monday, January 6, 2025 • Applications close at midnight, CT

The Bath House Cultural Center and exhibition curator and artist Jose Vargas invite artists to submit their artwork for consideration in the upcoming exhibition, El Corazón. We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of this annual exhibition in 2025, and we are seeking the participation of Texas artists who work across various media.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

El Corazón is an exhibition that focuses on the profound and universal symbolism of the human heart-a subject that has captivated artists throughout history as a representation of deep emotions and passions. This year's exhibition is especially significant, as it commemorates the 30th anniversary of El Corazón. This milestone stands as a testament to the enduring popularity of the show and the incredible support it has received from artists and the community over three decades.

We invite you to explore this timeless theme through your unique perspective and artistic voice. By participating, you'll be contributing to a celebrated tradition that honors the diversity and richness of art in our community. This special anniversary exhibition will showcase a wide array of styles and techniques. We encourage you to submit your work and join us in this compelling exploration of the many facets of the human heart, helping to mark a memorable chapter in the history of El Corazón.

2nd Annual Festival del Tamal - Vendors Wanted!

The Bath House Cultural Center will be hosting its 2nd Annual Festival del Tamal on Saturday, December 7, 2024, 12-4pm. Both food and goods vendors are invited to participate in our upcoming Festival del Tamal!

The Festival del Tamal seeks to highlight the history and cultural importance of tamales in Latine culture. We are currently looking for corn/maiz and tamal based art and food vendors to highlight during the festival.

If you are interested in applying for a vendor table, please fill out the vendor application form and submit it by Tuesday, November 22, 2024. There are no vendor table fees, but space is limited and vendors will be notified of selection by Friday, November 26, 2024 via email.
