UNM Research Allocation Committee announces Fall 2024 winners

The UNM Research Allocation Committee (RAC) recently announced 15 UNM faculty members have been awarded funding.

As part of the Faculty Senate Research and Creative Works Council, RAC oversees the research and creative endeavors of the University of New Mexico. The mission of RAC is to support the career development of faculty who are in the early stages of their career and work in fields and disciplines with limited funding.

RAC is comprised of 12 members who are appointed by the Faculty Senate. Of these 12, one but no more than three members must be from departments of physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, education, humanities, and fine arts.

The call for Fall 2024 proposals was announced in early October. UNM voting faculty could submit proposals for internal funding for small grants (budgets of less than $5,000), and large grants (budgets between $5,000 and $10,000). The project must also have a duration of 18 months from the receipt of funds. For Fall 2024, RAC awarded approximately $96,000 in funding.
