Mesa Police Department Announces Labor Day DUI Task Force

August 28, 2024 at 7:27 am

As part of its ongoing commitment to road safety, the Mesa Police Department (MPD) will be conducting DUI enforcement over the Labor Day weekend. In collaboration with the Governors Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), the MPD Traffic Unit will participate in the annual Labor Day DUI Task Force, running from Friday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 2.

Key enforcement hours are as follows:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 5 p.m. - 3 a.m.
Monday: 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The Labor Day DUI Task Force is a vital initiative aimed at removing impaired drivers from the roads, reducing vehicle collisions and enhancing safety across the valley. By targeting impaired driving, the task force seeks to decrease the number of injuries and fatalities that result from such incidents.

The Mesa Police Department urges everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly. Please designate a sober driver or use a rideshare service to ensure safe travels.

If you witness reckless, unsafe, or suspected DUI driving, please report it to your local law enforcement. For non-emergencies in Mesa, contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
